Following the success of last year’s festive smash, “Let’s Make Christmas Loud!”, George’s Rockstars have released another Christmas song, “(It’s Just Not) Christmas Without You”. You can download it for a minimum of £1.00; however much you donate will go directly to the charity.
Christmas is a poignant and special time of the year for many and none more so than for George’s Rockstars, as George himself adored Christmas. He loved to dress up and believed you couldn’t start your Christmas celebrations too early. You’d often find him dressed up as Elf in July.
The theme behind the song, missing that special person, is brought to life in the video, brilliantly created by Klayton Berry at Creation DMC. It features people writing Christmas tags for lost ones that they would love to have one more Christmas with. The charity is now offering you the chance to do exactly the same via their website.

As you can imagine this amazing song, with such a strong heartfelt message, was the result of a lot of talented people and hard work.
This year’s Christmas Charity song is the brainchild of Daniel Ash and Luke Stala. Dan, who is a trustee of George’s Rockstars, had the honour of having seen George playing live; this you could say was the inspiration for this year’s song. Like many creative experiences, the song was a joint effort.
Dan explains how the song came about: “I was sitting in a hospital waiting room and had been told that I needed to sit down for 15 minutes before I could leave. Coincidentally it was then that I received a text from my co-writer and friend Luke, it was the foundation of (It’s Just Not) Christmas Without You. As I could not move, I had the time to start working on the lyrics and melody. You could say I was in the right place at the right time.”
Luke and Dan wanted a rap section, so they enlisted the help of Jack Bowden. Jack comments: “Dan had written the brilliant first verse, but it was down to me to write the second, something I am very proud of. I also tweaked a couple of the words in the first verse as I found some of the words a little tricky.”
Like all good festive tunes, this one needed a choral section, so Dan and Luke drew on the highly talented Southern Ska Collective to add that extra seasonal layer to the song.
To bring (It’s Just Not) Christmas Without You together, ie record and engineer the song, they had the pleasure of working with Al (don’t know his last name) who weaved his magic to get this Charity single ready to be downloaded.
