In Memory of Mark Rogers

Mark Rogers had music in his soul. Growing up with a dad who played in a band, Mark may not have had the patience to learn an instrument himself, but he loved listening, learning, and celebrating music in every form. He was fascinated by artists, memorised the charts, and amazed friends with his uncanny ability to recall which song was number one when they were born.

Mark never missed a chance to see his musical heroes live, whether at festivals or iconic venues in London, always at the front of the stage, fully immersed in the experience. Music was not just a passion; it was his life.

Mark generously supported George’s Rockstars through the popular Katie’s Music Quiz at Katie’s Vinyl Bar in Gosport, where his musical knowledge regularly helped him win and, true to his spirit, he donated all his winnings straight back to the charity.

Suddenly taken from us, Mark passed away on 19th December 2023. The outpouring of love was immediate, with friends gathering outside his room and a packed funeral attended by everyone who knew and loved him.

Music was his life — and through George’s Rockstars, Mark’s love of music continues to inspire and make a difference.

Fundraisers

In his memory, Mark’s best friend Jane, along with family and friends, leads the annual Adored Festival at 33 Green Bottles every August, raising money for George’s Rockstars. The festival celebrates Mark’s life and his love of music, ensuring his legacy continues to bring joy and support to children through the charity he would have been so proud to help.

The total raised from two events is £1,930 funding 78 music therapy sessions in his memory.
